George Van den Broek, better known as the ever-evolving soul-savant YELLOW DAYS, kicks off a new era with the release of his radiant new single ‘Celebrate You Girl’, and announces a one-off rooftop performance to mark Record Store Day 2025.

Shedding the surrealist, high-concept mystique of his acclaimed 2023 album HOTEL HEAVEN, Yellow Days now finds himself in brighter, more heartfelt territory. ‘Celebrate You Girl’ is a blissed-out, sun-faded slice of psych-soul and ‘70s-inflected R&B, dedicated to his childhood sweetheart-turned-wife. Written and recorded in his Mare Street studio in Hackney, the track marks the start of a more intimate, emotionally open chapter – and is just the first in a run of new singles expected in the coming weeks.

Speaking about the track, Yellow Days said:

“I’ve written her hundreds of love songs since the beginning of my career… but this one is a celebration. Something that feels like the happy feeling she makes me feel – the ease and joy she gives me.”

Fans can experience the new single live – and celebrate the artist’s return – at a special rooftop show at Broadwick Soho on Friday 12th April, in partnership with Soho Radio for Record Store Day weekend. Running from 3pm to 10pm, the event will see Yellow Days joined by a handpicked line-up of friends and collaborators including Lex Fransche, Laura Quinn, Al Finch & The Trousers and Peach Juice, alongside Soho Radio DJs.

As well as his intimate set at 5pm, the day will also include the launch of a limited-edition vinyl-only EP, ‘Friends’, available exclusively at the event.

Having risen through the ranks with the lo-fi soul of Harmless Melodies and pushed boundaries with A Day In A Yellow Beat, Yellow Days continues to be an artist who refuses to sit still. From collaborations with Mac DeMarco and Shirley Jones to theatrical concept records and US tours, he’s carved a singular path through modern soul and indie. If Celebrate You Girl is anything to go by, this next chapter may be his most direct and emotionally resonant yet.
